Families in Partnership, Inc. is committed to promoting and developing the potential of families, and improving the community through effective action and leadership. We understand the importance of family involvement and encourage families to advocate, support, and strive to meet the physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of all its members. The “Strong Family Strong Community Award” recognizes the effort of families to meet those needs. It is a way to acknowledge a family’s efforts to make a difference in the lives of their children and in their community. This award celebrates all families, big or small, who strive to be a Strong Family in a Strong Community.
Amber Goodenough is a single mother of three daughters, Tabatha, Charice, and Christine. She sets a good example for her children by working part-time and attending college classes. She has learned that family time is important. Spending time with her children doing fun activities, reading, or even cleaning the house, is invaluable. Amber recognizes that she is her child’s first and best teacher and attributes this knowledge and practice to her enrollment in the Families in Partnership Early Head Start program. Thank you Amber for making a difference and being a Strong Family in a Strong Community.
FATHER OF THE QUARTER
Joseph Stinson
Joseph and Liz have four children, Sammy is 23 months old, Shane is 6 years old, Bradley is 14 years old, and Anna is 17 years old. Joseph has many favorite activities with his children: sledding on the big hill, riding the quad, playing with cars and trucks with Sammy, and Xbox games with Bradley. He loves fishing and spending time with all his kids. Joseph is interested in flying remote control airplanes, fishing, hunting, cooking and barbequing. Joseph and Liz appreciate the advancement Early Head Start gives the kids; it jump starts their learning and gets their brains moving and ready for school. Joseph and Liz think EHS is a great program. The legacy Joseph wants to leave his children is that he hopes he taught them to be good people and to be successful in life. He says, "They may hate me now, but I hope they will thank me later for the job I did."
